Our Programs

We are the strong right arm of the church, the Knights of Columbus are committed to providing moral, financial and spiritual support to our future priests and religious at all stages of their formation as well as programs that will promote and protect our faith.

Faith

We keep the faith alive by supporting our seminarians. We help strengthen families as the domestic church by providing exceptional materials to all Catholics. We provide the platform for faithful families and communities to come together in prayer through the rosary prayer, and many more activities.

Family

We are committed to helping end hunger through the Food for Families Program in which we prepare and feed those in need at Pinellas Hope every month. Your donations help us serve up to 150 meals each month. We promote the true spirit of Christmas in homes, schools, parishes and communities through the Keep Christ in Christmas program. We participate in the family of the month/year award. In which each month, the council selects one parish family that models Christian family values and visibly lives them every day, and many more activities.

Community

We put our faith into action and help those less fortunate in our community. Through the helping hands program, we come together to volunteer at Kimberly home in the areas needed month to month. We also provide the gift of warmth to children during cold winter months through the Coats for Kids program. We also encourage youth to become citizens grounded in their faith through creative writing with Catholic Citizenship Contest and many more programs.

Life

We support pregnant women, mothers and their babies by serving a pregnancy resource center and maternity home - Kimberly Home. We share the message of Our Lady of Guadalupe and promote respect for life through the SILVER ROSE pilgrimage, and many more activities such as providing ultrasounds to Kimberly Home, show public support for the right to life in the annual March, and We celebrate the intrinsic worth and dignity of every single human being through the Special Olympics.

Discover the Knights of Columbus: Today’s Knights

The remarkable story of the Knights of Columbus began in the winter of 1882, in the basement of St. Mary’s Church in New Haven, Connecticut.

Our founder, Blessed Father Michael J. McGivney, witnessed a recurring and heartbreaking problem. Many Catholics, primarily immigrants, faced challenging living and working conditions. Tragically, premature deaths left widows and orphans in dire financial straits. This hardship was a familiar reality for Father McGivney, who, as a seminarian, had to leave his studies to support his family after his father’s unexpected passing.

Yet, Father McGivney was convinced there was a way to change this narrative. He believed that if Catholic men in his parish could come together in mutual support, they could provide the necessary assistance to these grieving families. He also understood that by uniting in charity and unity, Catholic men could strengthen their faith, families, and communities.

With this vision, Father McGivney founded the Knights of Columbus. He introduced a grassroots “pass-the-hat” insurance system to protect Catholic families in his parish. Over time, this initiative has evolved into our current multi-billion-dollar, top-rated insurance program. Knights in the United States and Canada have exclusive access to various insurance products, including life insurance, retirement annuities, long-term care insurance, and disability income insurance.

Kathleen M. Kelly, Executive Director, CEO

"On behalf of the staff, volunteers, and especially the families we serve, thank you for your contribution to the Kimberly Home. Your continued support makes an incredible impact on our community. Kimberly Home is here to help educate, support, and empower women facing unexpected pregnancies with compassionate, confidential, and professional care. We strive to be a steppingstone on their journey to motherhood, raising children who will, in turn, impact our world. Your contribution makes this mission possible. It allows us to adapt our programming as needed to ensure the health and safety of all those we serve.
Please know that you remain in our thoughts and prayers and that you are a blessing to this ministry and to each of the women that we serve. We pray for your peace, health, and joy."

Marcy Dolan, President, St Vincent de Paul

"Your recent donation to us is a generous and true sign of your care and faithful support. Many parishioners are away this time of the year and our resources run particularly low. In the last several weeks, we have been extremely limited of providing financial assistance to our neighbors in need. However, more than ever, neighbors are coming to us for help with utility bills and rent as the effects of inflation are taking its toll on families, singles, young and old alike. On behalf of all the volunteers of St Vincent de Paul, thank you for your generosity."
